Conan Taylor is the founding and Managing Partner of Canadian Currents Immigration Services, where he leads a diverse team of immigration lawyers, consultants, and paralegals dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of Canadian immigration. While he no longer actively practices law on a day-to-day basis, Conan’s leadership focuses on assembling exceptional teams of immigration professionals who collectively offer decades of specialized experience. His management philosophy emphasizes efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising the quality of service. Through his guidance, Canadian Currents has developed a reputation for creating tailored immigration solutions that address each client’s unique circumstances and goals.
From Military Service to Legal Leadership
Conan’s path to leadership in immigration services was built on a foundation of diverse experiences and dedicated service. Before embarking on his legal career, Conan served as an officer with the Canadian Armed Forces for nine years, earning his Pilot’s Wings in 1983 and accumulating over 4,500 hours of flight time. His military service included three years as a NATO Exchange Officer with the Royal Air Force in the United Kingdom, where he flew Chinook helicopters. He retired in 1989 at the rank of Captain.
Following his military service, Conan pursued higher education, earning a BA (Honours) in Philosophy with First Class Honours from the University of Alberta and an LLB/JD from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. His subsequent legal career spans 29 years, during which he has resolved over $500 million in contested claims through his corporate and commercial litigation practice.
Expanding Access to Immigration Services Across Canada
Today, Conan’s passion lies in growing Canadian Currents Immigration Services to reach more potential immigrants across the country. Rather than focusing on his own legal practice, he dedicates his expertise to expanding the firm’s reach through offices in Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver, and beyond. His vision for Canadian Currents centers on creating accessible immigration pathways for people from all backgrounds and circumstances.
Beyond his professional commitments, Conan is an avid traveller and takes pleasure in spending time at his family farm south of Edmonton, where he reconnects with nature under Alberta’s expansive blue skies. This balance of professional ambition and personal fulfillment informs his leadership style and commitment to helping others build their own new beginnings in Canada.
